Five Basic Candle Care Tips

An extraordinary candle experience starts with proper candle care and upkeep. Here are some significant burning tips for making the most of your Philotree Candle:
TRIM YOUR WICKS
We recommend trimming your wick before every lighting. The wick only needs to be approximately 1/4" in length, keeping it this length will avoid mushrooming which can result in unnecessary soot. This also controls the size of the flame allowing you to get the most time out of your candle".
KEEP THE WAX CLEAN
Keep the wax pool free of wick trimmings, matches and debris at all times.
LET THE WAX POOL
Each time you burn your candle, allow the entire top layer to become a warm pool of liquid wax and you'll get the biggest, boldest scent possible with the longest burn times.
BURN IT SAFELY
Always burn your candle on a safe flat surface, keep it out of drafts and NEVER leave it unattended while lit.
HOW TO EXTINGUISH A CANDLE
Do not blow out. Just flick your wick into your liquid wax downwards and allow the wick to flick back upwards. With very little smoke, your wick will extinguish immediately and also coat your wick with a thin layer of wax, making it easier to light up your wick the next time.
